The announcement comes a few days after Browne was removed from his Aug. 4 bout with Ben Rothwell, who was forced to withdraw due to an ankle injury.
Browne, who has won three fights in a row, is 13-0-1. Nine of his victories have come by knockout.
Silva has dropped each of his two most recent fights. He was knocked out by Strikeforce 2012 Grand Prix winner Daniel Cormier (Sept. 10, 2011) and former UFC champ Cain Velasquez (May 26) in the first round.
Before those setbacks, Silva became the second fighter in more than nine years to defeat former Pride heavyweight titleholder Fedor Emelianenko.
Silva (16-4) makes his second appearance in UFC and seeks his first victory with the promotion. He has knocked out 11 opponents.
