Takanori Gomi-Mac Danzig deal close
A lightweight contest between Takanori Gomi and Mac Danzig has been targeted for the UFC's first-ever live event in China in November.
Sources have confirmed to ESPN.com that verbal agreements are in place for the bout. The UFC on Fuel TV event takes place Nov. 10 at the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel.
Gomi (33-8) avoided suffering the first three-fight losing streak of his career with a second-round TKO victory over Eiji Mitsuoka in February. The Japanese lightweight is 2-3 since signing with the UFC in March 2010.
Danzig (21-9) has had an up-and-down career in the Octagon since winning the sixth season of "The Ultimate Fighter" reality series in 2007. Danzig, 32, has alternated wins and losses in his last five bouts, taking a unanimous decision win over Efrain Escudero in his most recent performance.
Danzig holds wins over Mark Bocek and Joe Stevenson, but came up short in notable decision losses that went to Clay Guida and Jim Miller.
A middleweight fight between Cung Le and Rich Franklin is scheduled to headline the UFC on Fuel TV card.
