Alexander Sarnarvskiy to make debut
Undefeated lightweight Alexander Sarnarvskiy makes his Bellator debut on Oct. 19 against submission artist Rich Clementi in Reading, Penn., the promotion announced Monday.
Sarnarvskiy and Clementi will compete in the Bellator 77 main event. Their bout is one of four Season 7 Lightweight Tournament quarterfinal fights on the card.
"The Bellator tournament will be a difficult test for me," said Sarnarvskiy, who will take a 20-0 pro record into the cage against Clementi. "I will train and prepare myself the best I can.
"I have a huge responsibility to my coach, my manager, my fans and my country (Russia). I won't disappoint them and I want to show them a spectacular performance."
Clementi (44-21-1) is currently on a two-fight win streak.
The other lightweight tournament fights at Bellator 77 include: Dave Jansen vs. Magomed Saadulaev, Marcin Held vs. Murad Machaev, and Ricardo Tirloni vs. Rene Nazare.
The Season 7 Lightweight Tournament winner earns a title shot against Bellator 155-pound champion Michael Chandler.
