Seattle gets UFC event in July

A previously announced UFC on Fox event has been officially booked at KeyArena in Seattle on July 27.

UFC officials confirmed news of the venue Friday, following an initial report by The Seattle Times. It marks the third consecutive year Seattle will host a UFC event.

The promotion held nationally televised events at KeyArena in March 2011 and December 2012. Both were reported sellouts, with last year's UFC on Fox event drawing a reported gate of $1.5 million.

No bouts have been announced for the summer card, but the UFC does have two titleholders with ties to Washington state.

Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson (17-2-1) trains out of Kirkland, Wash., and lightweight champ Ben Henderson (18-2) grew up in the state. Henderson headlined the December card at KeyArena in a title fight against Nate Diaz.
