Little League: Westside Little League How they got here: Defeated First Colony American Little League of Sugar Land, Texas, 2-0 in the Southwest Regional championship game. Westside pitcher Walker Kelly gave up just two hits and struck out six in going the distance tonight, while walking only one. Westside is the first Dallas-Fort Worth area team to win a berth in the Little League Baseball World Series in more than 40 years. The only other Dallas-Forth Worth team to make it to Williamsport was Northeast Optimist Little League, which reached the final game in 1960, but was defeated by Levittown (Pa.) American Little League for the world title. The last team from Texas in the World Series was Bellaire Little League, which lost 2-1 to Sierra Maestra Little League of Maracaibo, Venezuela, in the final game.
