SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- Following a pair of convincing home victories, the Portland Trail Blazers look to grab a commanding three games to none lead tonight when they visit the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference semifinals.

The Blazers followed up their 19-point victory in the opener with a 103-85 triumph Tuesday for a 2-0 series lead. Steve Smith scored 19 points and Bonzi Wells added 17 for the Blazers, who had six players in double figures and shot 56 percent (36-of-64) from the field.

Wells was one of three Blazers to score in double figures off the bench, joining Greg Anthony and Detlef Schrempf.

The outcome was never in question once Portland gained a 10-point lead in the opening quarter and shot 63 percent in the first half. The Blazers held Karl Malone, John Stockton and Jeff Hornacek to a combined 26 points.

Utah is 3-0 at home in the playoffs, but Portland is not intimidated by playing at the Delta Center. The Blazers won Game 2 here in last season's Western Conference semifinals to grab home-court advantage and went on to take the series in six games.

Portland has swept a pair of best-of-five series since 1990, but has not owned a 3-0 lead in a seven-game series since sweeping the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1977 Western Conference Finals. The Blazers defeated the Philadelphia 76ers in the Finals for their only championship.

Utah has never fallen behind 3-0 in a best-of-seven series. The Jazz trail 2-0 in a series for the first time since the 1997 Finals against the Chicago Bulls. Utah won Game 3 here by 11 points.

Utah was swept in a first-round best-of-five series by Golden State in 1989.

Game 4 is here on Sunday.
