Heat all-in on small ball without Chris Bosh

Without a top-scoring big man, the Miami Heat have gone with a small lineup, but it has worked very well in Chris Bosh's absence.

LeBron James just did a heat check, launching a three from the edge of the Cavaliers' halfcourt logo. He missed but why not?

Not even halftime can cool off the Cavs. LeBron James just hit Cleveland's 20th three of the night. Cavs up 84-46 with 8:39 left in third.

The Cavaliers' 3-point prowess

Cleveland went an absurd 18-of-27 from beyond the arc in the first half of Game 2. Earlier today, Tom Penn broke down how Cleveland's shooting could be the answer if it faces Golden State.

Cavs up 74-38 at the half. CLE shooting 18-of-27 from 3. J.R. 20p 6-of-10 from 3; LeBron 16p 3-of-4 from 3 4a 3r; Love 11p 10r; Kyrie 8p 4a. Cavs bench outscoring Hawks reserves 16-3.

This is not a mistake: Cavaliers have drilled 18-of-27 three-pointers and lead the Hawks 74-38 at halftime. J.R. Smith has made 6-of-10 treys alone. Meanwhile, Hawks are shooting a dreadful 2-of-11 from behind the arc. Game 3 cannot come fast enough for the Hawks, who desperately need to regroup in Atlanta.

The Cavs have 17 made 3s and are up by 35 ... In the second quarter. Nobody's looked this good at The Q since the Warriors mopped the floor with the Cavs in January.

Cavs shooting 48.7% overall and the three-point shooting is at 68.4% (13-19). And seriously, this is them cooling off a bit. Cleveland leads 56-32 with five minutes left in second.

With his last 3-pointer, LeBron James passed Tim Duncan for 5th all-time in playoff scoring.

It's a three-point party for the Cavs, who buried 10-of-14 treys and are up 43-23. Hawks in serious trouble with under 10 minutes to play in second quarter.
