Camp question
What direction are the Suns taking? Are they trying to make the playoffs? Do they want to completely rebuild? Do they just want to wait until the contracts of Tom Gugliotta and Penny Hardaway expire? They need to find an identity.
Camp project
Shawn Marion received a $79 million contract extension over the summer after averaging a career-high 19.1 points per game, and now he must show that he is worth it. One of the best leapers in the league, Marion needs to develop a more diverse game that will help Stephon Marbury carry this club.

FANTASY GAMES KEY CAMPER

Who to watch: With Stephon Marbury potentially seeing much more time at shooting guard this year, the summer-league experiment of ex-Celtic Joe Johnson at point guard could pay off. Johnson averaged 9.6 points a game after becoming a Sun last season and stands to start with a solid showing in camp. Don't be shocked if he's vastly improved. — Eric Karabell

Camp comeback
Hardaway seems to have the same bug as Patrick Ewing and continues to think that he is a star in the league. It's time for him to stop talking about it and just go out and show it. If he does, it gives the Suns a decent trio around which to build.
Camp controversy
It should be interesting to see where rookie Amare Stoudemire fits in. The 6-foot-10, 245-pound Stoudemire is the early favorite for rookie of the year, but the 19-year-old high school phenom must first learn the way of the NBA.
