Rodney Rogers holds out hope for movement after accident leaves him paralyzed

APEX, N.C. -- Rodney Rogers drives slowly down the hallway. He veers to the left, then to the right, then pauses after he accidentally bumps into a fellow patient at the WakeMed Rehab Center. The two laugh as Rogers apologizes and maneuvers himself toward the sliding glass doors. The misdirection is understandable: Rogers isn't driving a car but a motorized wheelchair.

And he isn't using his hands, which, like the rest of his paralyzed body, he can no longer move after a dirt bike accident ...
