It's March 1: Let the trading begin
Twenty-two percent of NBA players become eligible for trades today
Last year's NBA lockout continues to play havoc on the calendar, with several key dates moved around in deference to this shortened 66-game schedule. Normally, players who are signed over the summer can't be traded until Dec. 15 -- the unofficial start of trade season -- giving teams plenty of time to complete deals before the late-February trade deadline.
This year, players signed during the offseason can be moved starting Thursday, and teams have just two weeks to get deals done before the March 15 trade deadline. Gentlemen, start your engines.
