Bobcats make qualifying offer to 2

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Bobcats president of basketball operations Rod Higgins says the team has extended qualifying offers Friday to guard D.J. Augustin and forward Derrick Brown, making them restricted free agents.

The qualifying offers allow the Bobcats to match any contract offer the players receive from another team.

Augustin was selected by the Bobcats with the ninth overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft. He averaged 11.1 points and a career-high 6.4 assists in 29.3 minutes per game ...
