The first two weeks of the NBA season have provided plenty of unexpected developments. While some are more likely to last than others, it's not too early to shine a light on the more surprising trends you might not have noticed. However, let's start with one you probably have: Teams that were supposed to be at the bottom of the standings but aren't.
The "Tankers" Strike Back
Wait, wasn't the margin between the best and worst teams supposed to be larger than ever? Apparently nobody told the Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns (or at least not their players and coaches). ESPN's Fall Forecast pegged those three teams as the worst in the NBA, predicting a combined 59 wins. They've already snagged 12, and Philadelphia (4-3) and Phoenix (5-2) are near the top of their conferences.
