Bobcats re-sign forward Wallace to three-year deal

Charlotte Bobcats: The Bobcats re-signed forward
Gerald Wallace on Tuesday to a three-year contract.

Wallace averaged 11.1 points and 5.5 rebounds last season while
starting 68 of the 70 games he played. His average of 1.6 steals a
game ranked ninth in the NBA.

Wallace was drafted by Sacramento with the 25th overall pick in
2001 and spent three seasons with the Kings. The Bobcats selected
him in the expansion draft last season.

Seattle SuperSonics: The Sonics re-signed
restricted free agent guard Ron "Flip" Murray to a one-year
contract. Terms were not announced.

"We're excited to have Flip back next season," general manager
Rick Sund said. "He adds explosiveness to our backcourt and is
versatile enough to play both guard positions."

Sund said Murray has "one of the league's best crossover

Last season, Murray's third in the NBA, he averaged seven
points, two rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in 49 games. He was
acquired by the Sonics in February 2003 from the Milwaukee Bucks
along with Ray Allen, Kevin Ollie and a conditional first-round
draft choice.

New York Knicks: Phil Ford and Dave Hanners rejoined coach Larry
Brown when they were hired as Knicks

Ford spent last season as an assistant under Brown at Detroit.
He served 12 years as a North Carolina assistant, including the
1993 NCAA championship season. Ford was the 1979 NBA rookie of the

Hanners was an assistant the last two seasons with the Pistons.
He has 17 years of coaching experience, including three with the
Philadelphia 76ers under Brown. He also worked for 12 seasons on
the North Carolina staff.

They join Herb Williams, Mark Aguirre and George Glymph on the
Knicks staff.

Milwaukee Bucks: Filling out their roster a week before the
start of training camp, the Bucks signed
guard Andre Barrett and forward Tommy Smith, a pair of free
agents with limited experience.

The 5-foot-10 Barrett averaged 3.1 points and 1.8 assists in 38 games
last season with Houston and Orlando. He played for San
Antonio's summer league team.

The 6-10 Smith averaged 13.4 points and 6.0 rebounds in 14 games
with Yakima of the CBA. A 2003 second-round pick of Chicago,
he was waived during that season without playing a game.
