Knee tendinites forces Nuggets' Martin to sit

Denver Nuggets:
Forward Kenyon Martin missed the
Nuggets' game against the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night
with tendinitis in his left knee.
Martin was not sure if he'd be able to play against the New York
Knicks on Friday night. After sitting out Sunday's game against
Minnesota, Martin played eight minutes against Dallas on Tuesday
night before leaving.
He said it's possible he would consider sitting out several
games to give the knee time to heal before trying to return again.
"I need to learn to be patient," said Martin, who had
arthroscopic surgery on the knee during the offseason. "I don't
have that. I don't have patience."

Los Angeles Lakers: Forward Slava Medvedenko will miss
about six weeks after being diagnosed with a herniated disc.

Medvedenko injured his back in a game at Minnesota on Nov. 9.

He has played in two games, averaging 1.0 points and 0.5

"We were just worried about about his recovery time and what
was going to happen to him," coach Phil Jackson said Wednesday
night. "Slava knows how to run this offense and score. We count on
him to give us a good practice. We'll miss him."

Forward Luke Walton, who hasn't played so far this season, had
an MRI that showed a strained right hip flexor. He also has a
severe hamstring strain and is out indefinitely.

Charlotte Bobcats:
Point guard Brevin Knight missed Wednesday's game against Indiana due to tendinitis in his left knee.
Knight was a late scratch after feeling discomfort during
pregame warmups.
Rookie Raymond Felton, the fifth overall pick in the draft, made
his first career start in Knight's place.
Knight is averaging 10 points and seven assists per game, while
Felton is averaging 5.9 points and 3.4 assists. Knight, who had
started the team's first eight games, was held to two points on
1-of-8 shooting in Charlotte's 85-77 loss at Orlando on Tuesday

Toronto Raptors: The Raptors signed veteran free agent Darrick Martin to be their third point guard.
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Martin has played 10 seasons in the NBA
with Minnesota, Vancouver, Sacramento, Dallas, and the Los Angeles Clippers.
The 34-year-old Martin averaged 3.8 points, 2.5 assists and 17.3
minutes in 11 games with the Clippers last season.
Martin also played 30 games with the Michigan Mayhem of the
Continental Basketball Association, averaging 15.8 points and 7.1
"He gives us insurance at the point guard position and will
help our younger players develop," general manager Rob Babcock
Alvin Williams was expected to be Toronto's third point guard,
but has played in just one game this season after undergoing
microfracture surgery on his right knee last year.
