Carmelo Anthony misses second game

TORONTO -- Denver forward Carmelo Anthony will miss his second straight game Friday when the Nuggets take on the Raptors.

Anthony, tenth in the NBA with 22.8 points per game, has a sore right knee. He also sat out Wednesday's loss at Boston, the only other game he's missed this season.

Rookie Gary Forbes will make his second straight start in Anthony's place.

Nuggets coach George Karl is seeking to become the seventh NBA coach to win 1,000 games. Denver, which also lost at Charlotte on Tuesday, has dropped two in a row after winning its previous seven.
