NBA - Why Starting Miller Over Haslem Helped Heat
- The Heat didn't use two traditional big men on the court together the entire game. The Heat used two big men 35% of the time in Games 1-3. - Udonis Haslem played 10 minutes off the bench in Game 4 (averaged 18 minutes per game this postseason) and Chris Andersen did not play (averaged 15 minutes). Ray Allen logged a postseason-high 33 minutes and Miller played 20 minutes for the 4th time this postseason. - With extra shooters on the court, the Spurs tried to contest shots with more frequency. In the 1st half, the Spurs contested 67% of the Heat's field goal attempts from 10-plus feet (contested 52% of those attempts in Games 1-3). - With less bigs and more shooters, the drive lanes opened for the Heat, who shot a series-high 61.3% off drives in Game 4.
