Knicks Rookie Shines While Scoring Champ Rests
From Elias: While scoring champion Carmelo Anthony rested up to get ready for the playoffs, Knicks rookie Chris Copeland scored 33 points, the second consecutive game he reached the 30-point mark, to lead New York to a 98-92 win over Atlanta on Wednesday night. Only two other Knicks rookies have registered 30 or more points in consecutive games: Willis Reed in 1964-65 and Bill Cartwright, who did it twice in 1979-80.

From Elias: Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 24 points and was supported by Chris Copeland (22), Raymond Felton (18) and J.R. Smith (15) as New York earned took a 108-89 decision over the Celtics for its eighth consecutive victory. Smith has now scored an even 200 points over those eight games, joining a brief honor roll of players who have scored that many points over eight straight Knicks games, all wins. The others who did that: Willis Reed, Patrick Ewing and Amar'e Stoudemire.
