Tiago Splitter likely out 7-10 days

San Antonio Spurs center Tiago Splitter sprained his left ankle late in the third quarter of Friday night's 120-89 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Coach Gregg Popovich said in his postgame news conference that X-rays were negative but that Splitter likely will miss Game 4 against the Lakers on Sunday. The San Antonio Express-News reported Splitter is expected to be out seven to 10 days.

With the Spurs leading the series against the Lakers 3-0 and dominating a short-handed L.A. team, they could wrap up first-round play Sunday. How many more games Splitter might miss could depend on the Golden State Warriors-Denver Nuggets series, which will determine the Spurs' next opponent. The Warriors lead that series 2-1.

Splitter had five points and six rebounds before exiting Friday night, and is averaging five points and four rebounds per game in the playoffs so far, down from regular-season averages of 10.3 points and 6.4 rebounds.
