INDIANAPOLIS -- Pacers forward David West started Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals Saturday night.
SportsNation: Pacers-Heat Game 6
Will the Heat clinch a third straight trip to the NBA Finals tonight, or will the Pacers force a winner-take-all Game 7?
West was sent home early from the team's morning shootaround after doctors diagnosed him with an upper respiratory infection. About 75 minutes before the game, coach Frank Vogel told reporters he believed the fever had broken. About 20 minutes after that, the Pacers released their starting lineup, with West in it.
West has been effective during the series, averaging 18.2 points and 8.4 rebounds in the five games.
The Heat were without big man Chris Andersen, who is suspended.
In an effort to keep their players healthy and get them extra rest, the Pacers did not fly home to Indianapolis Thursday night after Game 5. They instead stayed in Miami and practiced before returning home Friday afternoon.
Information from ESPN.com's Brian Windhorst and The Associated Press was used in this report.
