Power Rankings: Suns, Heat, Lakers on the rise

At last count, six members of the Phoenix Suns have career-high scoring averages ... with Shawn Marion close to making it seven.


Little wonder, then, that Suns coach Mike D'Antoni is telling anyone who'll listen that Steve Nash is even more worthy of the Most Valuable Player trophy than he was last season.

The Suns' steady climb in ESPN.com's weekly NBA Power Rankings -- without the injured Amare Stoudemire -- doesn't hurt D'Antoni's chances of a repeat, either. The reigning Coach of the Year and his MVP have put Amare-less Phoenix on a 55-27 pace, resulting in a promotion to a season-best No. 4.
