The bad news in the desert: Phoenix just lost two games in the same week for the first time since the second week of the season ... and lost its No. 1 ranking in the process.

The solace for the Suns: It's suddenly not such an insult to be known as the Colts of the NBA, as they're often described.

Defeats to Minnesota and Utah, after a glorious 33-2 stretch, have dropped Phoenix back down to No. 2 in the ESPN.com NBA Power Rankings, with the Dallas Mavericks reclaiming the top spot they've held for all but one week in 2007. You'll also note that the top six slots are all filled by Western Conference teams, with Washington taking the biggest tumble (from No. 4 to No. 10) after two heavy defeats (to the Raptors and Lakers) and losing Antawn Jamison to injury.
