Brooks said he found out Lawson, who was suffering from a sinus infection, wouldn't be able to play when Lawson walked off the court and told him after struggling in pregame warm-ups.
"I thought he was joking at first," Brooks said. "I was like, `Quit playing around. Get back out there.' But that's what you have to do. We all stepped up."
