Chris Bosh scored 25 points for the Raptors, who dropped to 1-10
at home and 4-18 overall.
"At some point somebody in the locker room should say something
to each other," Mitchell said.
"At some point you have to start processing information and
start doing it because the reality of it is that we're doing it
every day. We're teaching it, we're drilling it, we're talking
about it, we're showing it on tape, it's in their scouting report,
it's on the board. At some point you have to be able to process
information and go out and actually do it, and if you can't do that
then you need to find something else you can do."
Mitchell said his players must realize that playing in the NBA
is a right and not a privilege. He criticized rookie Charlie
Villanueva's practices habits to the media before meeting with him.
"The coach is just looking out for me," Villanueva said.
"It's a good thing, because it seems like he actually cared."
Villanueva played just eight minutes. He entered the game
Jalen Rose was scoreless in nine minutes. Rose taped the
boxscore to his locker after going scoreless on Nov. 16, 2005,
against Philadelphia, his first scoreless game since Feb 20, 1998,
for Indiana at Orlando.
Chicago traded Rose to Toronto two years ago. Rose and Bosh are
co-captains of the Raptors.
Seven Chicago players reached double figures in scoring. The
Bulls shot a season-high 58 percent and went 9-for-17 from 3-point
Chicago trailed at halftime after committing 12 turnovers.
"One of the timeouts during the first half I got on the guys
pretty good, but the guys responded," Chicago coach Scott Skiles
Kirk Hinrich, who had six of his eight turnovers in the first
half, said Skiles was livid.
"He's had some good ones. This was probably one of his better
ones," Hinrich said. "We obviously weren't playing very well and
he let us know about it."
Chicago center Tyson Chandler left in the third quarter with a
bruised left knee. He lost his footing while trying to block a shot
and was helped to the locker room.
He said he'll be able to play in Friday's game in Detroit.
Toronto led by five at halftime. But the Bulls outscored the
Raptors 25-12 in the third quarter as Toronto committed eight
turnovers in the period.
Chris Duhon capped a 13-1 third-quarter run with a 3-pointer.
Toronto cut the lead to two in the fourth, but Michael Sweetney
made four free throws to give Chicago a 10-point lead with just
more than 2 minutes left.
Songaila scored a season-high 19 points in a loss to Miami on
The Raptors host Golden State on Friday. ... Toronto's
roster includes seven players who had played two or fewer seasons
in the NBA. ... Bosh went 6-for-16 from the field.
