LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Anthony Davis scored 16 points and blocked Bradley Beal's game-tying drive attempt with 11.9 seconds left to help the New Orleans Pelicans remain unbeaten with a 93-89 exhibition victory over the Washington Wizards on Saturday night.
Playing before 14,980 happy to welcome the Kentucky product back to Rupp Arena, Davis contributed a couple of key fourth-quarter baskets that helped the Pelicans (6-0) rally from a 72-66 deficit. He finished with four rebounds and two blocks.
Beal scored 13 of his 30 points in the third period for the Wizards (1-4) and was hoping to force overtime when Davis denied his attempted layup. John Wall, another former Wildcat, added 16 points and Al Harrington 13 for Washington.
