Jeff Hornacek wants Kristaps Porzingis, the 7-3, 240-pound big man, to get stronger. But he doesn't want him to add weight solely to match up against 5s: "If he's 7-3 and he's got a little bit more bulk to him, that he can play that 5," Hornack said Thursday. "We obviously want to get him stronger. But to put on a bunch of weight so he can play more of the five is not a great thing to do."

Phil Jackson sees benefits of playing Kristaps Porzingis at center, with a caveat: he doesn't want to use him as a full-time center. "I'm not going to limit him to a position," Jackson said Thursday. "I do think that he's going to play a center role. Last year he had minutes at it. We see how this game is evolving into a lot of guys that are going small at the end of quarters, end of halves, end of games. Is he one of those guys that fits into those grouping that can play small ball at the end of a game? Yeah, I think so. I kind of think he can."
