Clippers ability to spend on free agents largely dictated by timing on KD pursuit and which of their own free agents they retain. They need a starting SF so keeping Green is key. They could also get involved with guys like David West, Afflalo, Gasol, Bazemore depending on how much $ they end up with

One sneaky team to watch in Pau Gasol free agency: Golden State Warriors. If they miss on KD, been told they are very interested. Gasol took less to sign with Bulls. He isn't keen on doing so again, but market + contender status matters to him.

Clippers priorities in free agency: besides chasing KD, retain their own free agents like (Austin Rivers, Jamal Crawford, Jeff Green)

Don't forget on Kanter: Has veto power over any trade until July 12 after OKC matched his Portland offer sheet AND a 15-percent trade kicker

Reality of NBA free agency: everyone will be overpaid. Teams have to spend. Projected cap $94M ($70M past yr). Next summer projection $107M.

The Lakers announced that they have extended qualifying offers to guards Jordan Clarkson and Marcelo Huertas as well as center Tarik Black. All three players are now restricted free agents.

Bits of Celtics housekeeping via ESPN's Jeff Goodman: The Celtics formally extended a $3.7 million qualifying offer to make Tyler Zeller a restricted free agent. The team also shifted the guarantee dates on the contracts of Amir Johnson ($12 million) and Jonas Jerebko ($5 million) from July 3 to July 7. That affords the team extra time to navigate the initial stages of free agency before making decisions on those players.
