Raptors G DeMar DeRozan on heading into free agency: "That's always been mutual (my feelings for Toronto). Since I've been there, the level of respect that I have for that team and that organization and that whole country and vice versa. It's my first time going into this -- really being a free agent and understanding how things work -- so I'm just taking it day by day, honestly. And once Friday (July 1) comes I'll have a different outlook on everything. But Friday and this weekend will say a lot."

Kevin Durant wouldn't say whether he will meet with the Knicks but he did say he's "excited" to see how Derrick Rose does in New York and that Carmelo Anthony has long been "like my big brother" since he was in high school. When asked whether Rose, Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis make the Knicks more appealing, Durant said, "I haven't really thought about that. They obviously have a good team now with D-Rose, Melo and Porzingis. I am going to talk to my team and we will figure things out but right now it is kind of hard to say."

Sometime after the Kings announced they'd drafted Georgios Papagiannis in the first round, DeMarcus Cousins tweeted, "Lord give me strength" accompanied by a "prayer hands" emoji. Most interpreted this tweet as Cousins expressing displeasure with the pick. Cousins explained it differently on Monday. "Bad timing," he said at the USA Basketball event in New York to unveil the Olympic roster. So, what was the tweet in reference to? "It sounds ridiculous, but I was in a hot sculpting class. Yeah, I'm busted."

Pacers F Paul George on the opportunity to play for Team USA after the horrific injury he suffered in Las Vegas: "It's been a whirlwind. It's been a roller coaster. But I think when you have goal as a kid, it's hard to knock it and it's hard to shy away from it because of an injury. It's something I've always wanted to do since I was a kid, so I'm just fortunate and grateful that I was able to return to form and come back to the player that I was to get this opportunity again to play for a gold medal."
