Carmelo Anthony explains why he'd like to be kept in the loop on the Knicks' coaching search: "You gotta think about it, this is gonna be a long-term journey of playing and you consider me being part of that plan then I would want to know what's going on," he told Complex.com last week. As of last Thursday, Anthony hadn't spoken to team president Phil Jackson about the coaching search.

Eleven turnovers, including 3 shot-clock violations, two missed dunks and 38.1 percent shooting from the field - yet the Heat have to feel good about trailing only 43-41 at the half. Goran Dragic leads with 8 points, but is just 3-for-10 from the field.

Raptors 43 Heat 41 at the half. Toronto will look at this as a bit of a missed opportunity to build a significant lead. Miami is shooting 38.1 percent with 11 turnovers and Dwyane Wade has four points on 2-for-7 shooting. Kyle Lowry is scoreless, has missed all four of his jumpers and has one rebound and one assists in 18 minutes. Jonas Valanciunas has 14 points and six rebounds for Toronto.

Phil Jackson just tweeted a photo of a Thai restaurant in Sioux City, Iowa. Hopefully, this is where the Knicks' president is interviewing candidates for the club's coaching vacancy.

Carmelo Anthony reiterated that he'd like to see the Knicks speak to several available candidates before they hire their next head coach. Phil Jackson has spoken to Luke Walton and David Blatt about the opening. Interim coach Kurt Rambis remains a strong candidate. Other than that, it is unclear who Jackson has talked to. "I just want to see the proper procedure gone through, the proper process," Anthony said in an interview with Complex.com. "We give everybody a shot to come in and say what they have to say and see if you like that person or not."

Defensive slugfest through the first quarter, with Heat and Raptors tied at 18. Miami shooting just 38 percent and has been forced into three 24-second violations in the first. Hassan Whiteside's situation with his knee will be worth watching. He had already been dealing with a bruised thigh and hand injury from the first-round series.
