Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek says that a change of scenery may be beneficial for Derrick Rose: "Sometimes it's good for players," Hornacek said Thursday. "Obviously after he won the MVP, he was from Chicago, there was a lot of pressure on him there. There's a lot of pressure in New York but he's not going to be the hometown guy trying to carry a team by himself. Hopefully that will release a little bit of pressue from his play and he can have fun with Carmelo and Kristaps and other guys we have. I think he'll enjoy it."

This quote from Derrick Rose on his initial reaction to being traded is a reminder that elite athletes are human. I think fans/observers forget that at times. Here is the quote: "The first thing I thought about was my son PJ. It's hard enough to find time to see him during the season even when I'm in Chicago. Now I'll be in New York, hours away. It's a lot of miles. I know this is part of being an NBA player, though. We'll find a way to make it work. I owe him that." Rose wrote the words in a first-person essay on The Cycle.

On same day as Game 6 of the NBA Finals, Steph Curry filed to trademark "Steph Curry," "Stephen Curry," "Curry" and "Chef Curry."

I think when Derrick Rose said "thank you" to the Bulls for trading him, he meant it as gratitude to the organization for sending him to the Knicks, as opposed to another organization. I don't believe it was meant as a shot at the organization.
