Former NBA star Odom hospitalized

Lamar Odom was rushed to a hospital Tuesday after he was found unresponsive at a Nevada brothel. The Nye County Sheriff's office says Odom was stabilized at the scene and taken to Desert View Hospital. He was treated there by doctors, then transferred to a hospital in Las Vegas. Story

Kevin Durant started 1-9 shooting and was out of sync missing a lot of clean looks, but hit his final three shots to finish with 10 points. Russell Westbrook, though, had 19 on 8-13 showing off a refined post-up game.

Winslow shines in Heat's preseason loss

Wiz F Alan Anderson has ankle surgery

There is no timeframe for the Wizards forward's return after he underwent a second surgery to remove a bone spur from his left ankle. Anderson, who signed with Washington in the offseason, averaged 7.4 points and 2.8 boards last season with the Nets.

Rose's status for opener in doubt

Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg said Derrick Rose "most likely" will not play in the preseason and his status for the team's season opener is in doubt. Rose had surgery to repair a fractured orbital bone on Sept. 30.

Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart (illness) is not expected to accompany the team to New York on Tuesday night and will sit out Wednesday’s exhibition game versus the Brooklyn Nets. “He’s got what everybody else had plus fever and everything else,” said Stevens, whose roster has battled illness throughout training camp. “We’ve gone through that a little bit with our roster and hopefully we’re nearing the end of it.”
