Kobe Bryant: 'I'm definitely playing'

Lakers coach Byron Scott said earlier this week that he wasn't sure if Kobe Bryant would play in the team's preseason opener, but the superstar has other ideas. "I feel great," Bryant said. "It's just getting the sea legs under me. Getting up and down. ... I'm feeling in great shape. I feel strong, feel healthy."

Davis dealing with ankle issue

Anthony Davis has a sprained left ankle, but is listed as probable for the Pelicans' preseason opener tonight against the Pacers. Davis has missed 47 games in his 3 seasons in the NBA.

Rose expected to rejoin Bulls Wednesday

The PG is recovering from a fractured left orbital, and coach Fred Hoiberg said after practice today: "[The doctors have] advised him to continue to let that sight heal and they think the best way to do that is for him to stay at home at this time. We plan on him being back Wednesday morning."
