Parker left San Antonio's 112-83 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday because of hip soreness with 3:48 left in the third quarter and didn't return to action. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich hasn't divulged the severity of Parker's injury.
"I haven't talked to him," Popovich said after Sunday's game.
The Spurs held Parker out of two games recently because of soreness in the hip, but it's believed the club is sitting him as a precautionary measure; Popovich has said on numerous occasions he errs on the side of caution when dealing with veteran players. Parker wasn't available to the media Monday when the Spurs worked out in preparation for their upcoming road trip.
Parker led San Antonio in its 99-95 win last Thursday over the Cleveland Cavaliers, scoring a game-high 24 points on 11-of-18 shooting. Parker averaged 27.5 points in addition to shooting 64.9 percent from the field (24-of-37) in the two games before his last outing Sunday against the Mavericks.
