Chandler Parsons, selected 38th overall by the Houston Rockets in the June draft, is closing in on a two-month deal with French club Cholet, according to his agent.

Agent Mark Bartelstein said Friday that Parsons is close to finishing a deal with Cholet that will allow him to return to the NBA when the lockout ends, or remain in France if the lockout persists.

Parsons was able to secure a short-term guaranteed deal with Cholet looking for NBA-level reinforcements as it tries to qualify for the Euroleague.

The 6-foot-10 forward out of Florida became the first Gator to be named SEC player of the year.
