The Bucks forward has been suspended one game for his flagrant foul 2 in Monday night's opener. He was ejected with 27.3 seconds left in the third quarter for hitting Charlotte's Gerald Henderson in the head with his arm.
"Once they rule that, it's going to be looked at very carefully in the league office," Bucks coach Scott Skiles said. "Those are tough calls, and the league makes them."
The suspension was announced by Stu Jackson, the's NBA's executive vice president of basketball operations.
Gooden, a 10-year veteran, had only four points in Milwaukee's 96-95 loss in Charlotte after averaging 11.3 last season.
The Timberwolves will also be short-staffed as head coach Rick Adelman will miss Tuesday's game to attend funeral services for his mother-in-law.
