Before Trail Blazers practice on Tuesday, Portland coach Terry Stotts responded to the notion that he'd need to monitor swingman Gerald Henderson in Game 2. Henderson and Warriors center Anderson Varejao were ejected in the second half on Sunday after they were assessed for a pair of double-technical fouls following an altercation. The Trail Blazers believe Varejao deliberately swept his leg in an attempt to trip Henderson in the third quarter. "Varejao made a dirty play," Stotts said. "It was a leg whip and I thought it was a dangerous play. I thought Gerald's reaction to being tripped like that was appropriate, otherwise no one would've seen it. So, it was unfortunate that he got tossed on the second [set of double technical fouls], but you have to defend yourself, especially when somebody makes a dirty play."

After three quarters, the Trail Blazers trail the Warriors 93-73. It's been a woeful afternoon for both Damian Lillard (3-for-17 from the field, 12 points) and CJ McCollum (2-for-10 from the field, six points). Among the many other areas of concern for Portland: They've been unable to get to the line and they continue to get dominated on the glass by Golden State.

Apparently the first set of double technicals wasn't enough to defuse the fracas between Anderson Varejao and Gerald Henderson. The pair are whistled for a fresh set of techs just before the end of the third quarter and were summarily tossed from the game.

Anderson Varejao and Gerald Henderson exchange words after the play after Henderson trips over Varejao's leg. Players on the floor instantly tilt their heads up to see replay on big screen. None follows, but they continue to check back, peering upwards. Double technical fouls are ultimately assessed to Varejao and Henderson.
