The Boston Celtics made a flurry of moves Saturday, including agreeing to deals with Gerald Green and Tyler Zeller. What it seems to suggest is that Boston is willing to head into next season with the roster it has constructed. The Celtics still have the flexibility and assets to explore trade opportunities, but also bolstered their depth assuming no deals materialize.

Irked Crowder: Celtics told Durant too much

Jae Crowder thinks the Celtics may have gone too far in their recruitment of Kevin Durant, giving up valuable defensive strategies against the All-Star's new team, the Warriors.

Chris Forsberg ESPN Staff Writer

How bad was Jae Crowder's ankle in the postseason? He said that soreness didn't dissipate until two weeks ago — or two months after Boston's season ended. Crowder suffered a bad sprain in mid-March, missed eight games, and was never quite himself in the postseason. He said after resting his body at the start of the summer, he finally feels 100 percent again.

Kid asks Jae Crowder about the toughest player to guard. Crowder says Kevin Durant. Fans boo. Crowder: "Yeah, I'm with you guys."

Tyler Zeller still on the market

The 7-footer remains a restricted free agent this offseason. Kevin Pelton believes Zeller is a reliable backup center, but he's not a shot-blocking threat. Pelton could see the 26-year-old big man landing in Brooklyn. Best available NBA free agents (Insider)

J.R. Smith still available

The veteran guard made a career-high 204 3-pointers with Cleveland last season. Kevin Pelton believes Boston could use Smith's 3-point shooting. Best available NBA free agents (Insider)

The Boston Celtics will travel to play the Charlotte Hornets in a preseason game on Oct. 6 in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Hornets are set to debut a new D-League entry — the Greensboro Swarm — this season.

Boston Celtics rookie Jaylen Brown, the No. 3 pick in the 2016 draft, was named to the All-NBA Summer League second team for his performance in Las Vegas. Brown averaged 16 points on just 32.8 percent shooting, but lived at the free throw line and added 6.2 rebounds and 2.8 steals over 29.2 minutes per game. Second-year guard Terry Rozier, clearly Boston's best overall player at summer league, didn't make the Vegas team after sitting out two of Boston's five games.
