MVP Curry, LeBron highlight All-NBA First Team

Stephen Curry (unanimous selection), LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard and DeAndre Jordan have made the All-NBA First Team, the league announced Thursday.

Anthony Davis did not receive enough votes to make any of the three All-NBA teams, meaning the maximum extension he signed last offseason will be worth only 25% of the league salary cap and not the 30% he would have made, as stipulated by the CBA's "Rose Rule." Davis will leave around $25 million over the length of the contract, and give the Pelicans about $4.3 million extra in cap space this summer to utilize.

No All-Defensive team nod for Anthony Davis this year. He did receive three first-place votes -- including one from Tommy Heinsohn! -- to finish with 24 total points (11th among the group relegated to "also receiving votes").

A federal judge ruled Monday that Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson has the power to remove shares in both teams from family trusts he created for his now-estranged daughter and grandchildren, but he still must prove in court that he is replacing them with assets of equal value, NOLA.com reported. Benson is trying to replace the teams with mostly promissory notes, which may be allowed if they are valued properly. A trial is scheduled for June 20 after the judge denied a request from the trustees to rule against Benson without a trial.

Pelicans, Dunn appear to be likely fit

The Pelicans have a 6.3 percent chance of landing the first draft pick in Tuesday night's NBA lottery and are most likely to choose sixth.

  • If they go at No. 6, their selection should be Providence's Kris Dunn, according to Ford.
