No Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili or Boris Diaw for tonight's preseason opener at Sacramento. The team left them behind for rehab and rest. Ginobili expected the vets to be left back in San Antonio.

Have been noticing a little pocket on the back of the shirts the players wear under their jerseys. Those pockets contain heart monitors that all the players wear during workouts so the team can monitor their exertion.

LaMarcus Aldridge didn't want to be held out of Tuesday's workout. Gregg Popovich joked: "Welcome to the Spurs."

LaMarcus Aldridge was held out of today's workout because of tightness in his IT band, according to Spurs coach Gregg Popovich. Apparently the muscle runs along the thigh bone, according to Popovich's demonstration on an unsuspecting reporter.

Spurs' second unit passing early chemistry test

The quick development of the Spurs' bench early in camp is a welcome sight for a San Antonio team trying to fit a bunch of new pieces together.

Boris Diaw falling in lastest rankings

The Spurs’ Frenchman has been a solid contributor off the bench and as a starter, when needed. Diaw’s passing skills help open the floor for the Spurs’ shooters. See where he landed in today’s rankings, which list Nos. 111-120. #NBArank: Day 9

Where does Manu Ginobili rank?

The fixture in the Spurs' backcourt turned 38 years old this past summer. That accounts greatly for him dropping in our annual NBA player rankings into the group revealed here, Nos. 121-130. #NBARank: Day Eight

Health key for Spurs' Parker this season

Tony Parker's most pressing concern for 2015-16 is maintaining good health, a feat the Spurs point guard failed to accomplish last season.

Parker's goal for season: 'Be healthy'

Coming off a disappointing performance at Eurobasket, Tony Parker said his primary concern for 2015-16 is his health: "Last year was the first year that I really had [an] injury. So it was new for me. It was hard to accept it. I accepted it, and [now] I have to prepare differently. I just have to understand that I’m not 25 anymore and if I want to play at the same high level, it takes more time to prepare."

Jimmer Fredette's jumper still works. Here in San Antonio he's been given the green light to shoot it any time he's open, which he says is a little different than previous stops. We'll have a Q&A up shortly on Fredette.
