Pierce comfortable in D.C.?
Sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein that the Wizards are increasingly optimistic about their chances of re-signing Paul Pierce despite interest from Pierce's hometown Clippers. Pierce and the Wizards opened negotiations shortly after midnight.
