Sources: Heat contact John Lucas III

Lucas averaged 7.5 points and 2.2 assists in 49 games with the Bulls last season including a 24-point game against the Heat in March in a Bulls victory. It was the best season of his winding career that's taken him in and out of the NBA dating back to 2005.
The Heat will still have three open roster spots after signing Ray Allen this week and Lucas is under consideration for one of them. Sunday the Heat met with Lewis, who has meetings with several other teams including the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics scheduled for this week.
The team still maintains an interest in Camby but might be a bit of a longshot after using its mid-level exception on Allen. Camby postponed a meeting with the Heat on Saturday so Miami could see if a sign-and-trade could be worked out with Houston Rockets, who have Camby's rights.
Sources told ESPN.com that the Rockets were more interested in a sign-and-trade package from the New York Knicks than the Heat. Camby met with the Knicks on Sunday.
In other Heat news, Dwyane Wade is scheduled to have arthroscopic surgery on his left knee this week after returning from a Caribbean vacation. Wade, who withdrew from the Olympics because he needed the procedure, is expected to miss six to eight weeks.
