Wade skipped the Heat's shootaround and underwent an X-ray before the game (10:30 ET, ESPN). But the X-ray was negative, and Wade warmed up to see how the foot responded before deciding to play.
Wade suffered the injury in the third quarter Monday night during the Heat's 113-110 win against the Houston Rockets. He stepped on teammate Chris Bosh's foot and turned his ankle and foot. Wade returned in the fourth quarter but was limited. He received treatment during the team's off day Tuesday.
"Hopefully, there's nothing wrong and I'll just see if I'm able to put the pressure on I need to to play," Wade said. "Personally, I think it's a deep bruise. I have to make sure it's nothing more than that because it's on the bone."
Wade already missed a game during the Heat's six-game road trip, Friday in Atlanta, due to a cold. He has been dealing with several nagging injuries, including a jammed right thumb he suffered Sunday in Memphis.
Wade is averaging 18.4 points for the Heat, who entered Wednesday night 6-2 and 2-1 on the road trip. The Clippers are 5-2 and entered the game riding a three-game win streak.
Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade will play in Wednesday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers despite a sprained left foot.
