The Pac-10 saw its ranking drop .625 points from last week, but it managed to keep a narrow lead over the Big 12 in this week's ESPN Stats and Information softball conference power Rankings. Although it was not enough to earn the top spot, the Big 12 actually improved 1.9 points this week. Both conferences feature three teams in the RPI's top 10, and no teams outside of the top 100.

Though the average RPI changed for every conference, the rankings remained unchanged. The ACC saw its average improve 5.75 points, which was the second biggest improvement of the week. Seven of the eight schools in the ACC are ranked in the top 75, but the strength of the conference is brought down by No. 187 Boston College, who has the third-worse RPI amongst BCS schools (only the Big East's No. 203 Seton Hall and No. 214 Georgetown are ranked lower).

The Big East improved 4.5386 points, but it remained the worst of the BCS conferences with a 101.4614 ranking. While it features four schools ranked No. 32 or better (Notre Dame, Louisville, Syracuse and DePaul), it has seven schools outside of the top 100.
