OMAHA, Neb. -- Another lightning strike has delayed Day 2 of the College World Series again.

Because the strike occurred within an eight-mile radius, NCAA officials said the tarp on the field cannot be removed until 5:12 p.m. ET.

Oklahoma and South Carolina were originally scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. with Arizona State and Clemson to follow at 7 p.m.

The Rosenblatt Stadium grounds crew would need 45 minutes to an hour to prepare the field, meaning a first pitch before 6 p.m. is doubtful.
