Gamecocks join Bruins in CWS final

June, 26, 2010

OMAHA, Neb. -- South Carolina is going to the College World Series championship round, and at the expense of its most hated rival.

The Gamecocks repeated history from 2002, beating Clemson twice in the semifinal round. South Carolina will face UCLA beginning Monday night in the best-of-three series.

Once again, the Gamecocks did it with pitching and defense. The Tigers produced just four runs in the two back-to-back losses; South Carolina has allowed just six runs in its last three games, all victories.

Matt Price got the victory in relief, continuing his excellent World Series run. The winning runs came in the bottom of the seventh, when Christian Walker and Adrian Morales slapped consecutive two-out RBI singles.
