Cardinal top Vanderbilt, advance to NCAA tennis quarters
ATHENS, Ga. -- Top-seeded Stanford coasted through the round of 16 in the NCAA women's tennis championships, shutting out Vanderbilt on Friday.
Host Georgia also advanced, as did Georgia Tech, which reached the quarterfinals for the first time in school history.
Winning for the 23rd time in 24 matches this season, Stanford handed Vanderbilt its first loss of the season after 19 straight victories.
