Jeff Hathaway was forced out at Connecticut last summer but was still able to hold onto his high-profile position as chair of the men's basketball tournament selection committee by being a consultant in the Big East.

Now, Hathaway has completely resurrected his career in less than a year.

Hathaway confirmed multiple earlier media reports that he will be named director of athletics at Hofstra on Tuesday. Hathaway said Monday night that he will also be named a vice president.
