Ex-UVa lax player appeals conviction
Former Virginia lacrosse player George Huguely V, found guilty in February of murdering his former girlfriend, is appealing his conviction, The Associated Press reported Friday.
Huguely's attorneys cited errors before and during the trial in a motion filed Friday asking that the second-degree murder charge for the May 2010 beating death of Yeardley Love be overturned. Huguely also was convicted of grand larceny, which his lawyers hope to have tossed out as well.
