THE DOWNHILL ROAD to the Grayson High football stadium is flecked with granules of white, so on a searing day in early July, with the sun directly overhead, the smooth concrete path sparkles like fresh snow. There are yellow G's painted on it every 20 yards, their circular shape familiar to any football fan in the state of Georgia.
