Columbia, Valpo earn big wins

FULLERTON, Calif. -- Columbia was down by five runs late in the game, and the Lions appeared on the verge of getting knocked out of the NCAA baseball tournament.

Then came a huge comeback and, a few innings later, a stunning victory.

Nick Crucet hit a go-ahead RBI single in the 13th inning and Columbia held on to earn its first NCAA tournament win, beating New Mexico 6-5 on Saturday night in the Fullerton regional.
