Men's X-Country
Oklahoma State's men's cross country team was going for three NCAA titles in a row, and had the kind of close-knit pack capable of achieving that goal. However, so did Wisconsin.
The Badgers also had one of the top individuals in the race, junior Mohammed Ahmed. He took off from the Wisconsin pack and finished fifth individually, leading the Badgers to the program's fifth national championship; the Cowboys finished second.
Winning the race was Arizona freshman Lawi Lalang, who finished the 10K race all alone -- 13 seconds ahead of the next competitor -- in 28 minutes, 44.1 seconds. Lalang, who is from Kenya, won all six races he entered this season.
